Most fast food chains are open 7 days a week, but a few notable exceptions close on Sundays. Here's your complete guide to which chains are closed and why.
Chick-fil-A
Chick-fil-A is the most famous Sunday-closed chain. Every single location is closed on Sunday — this policy has been in place since founder S. Truett Cathy established it in 1946. The policy is based on the founder's Christian beliefs. Even mall food court locations and some airport locations close on Sunday. There are no exceptions in the US.
What About Other Chains?
Most other major chains are open 7 days a week. In-N-Out is open on Sundays. McDonald's, Burger King, Taco Bell, Wendy's, and KFC are all open every day.
Holiday Hours
Many chains have reduced hours on Christmas Day and Thanksgiving. Most are open normal hours on other holidays. Check individual restaurant pages or call ahead for holiday hours. Use our restaurant guides to find locations near you.
